The ACE Mentor Program is a free program for high schoolers who are interested in learning about Architecture, Construction and Engineering. Mentors within the design & construction industry form a “team” — Navigant has been the team leader of “Team #10” for more than 5 years (we have participated since 2006) — and our team includes mentors from two architecture firms, a structural engineering firm, a MEP engineering firm, and an environmental engineering firm.

Our team meets roughly bi-weekly from October to May with the approximately 20 students that sign up for our team at the start of the school year. At each meeting, we teach the students about our industries and our work via fun hands-on activities that we create, field trips/site visits, and a big group project that is the focus of the year. At the end of the school year in May, the students present their team project to other ACE teams, mentors, and a design jury comprised of members of the design, construction and real estate community.

At the final presentations in May, merit-based scholarships are awarded to students planning to pursue design, engineering or construction in college. For the past few years, Navigant’s Lending A Hand program has sponsored a scholarship that has gone to some of the great students that we have mentored on Team #10.
